Let’s Put The Work In!

In any sport, players and coaches are always looking to improve speed. While Training in the weight room is an essential asset to help with power, one must be able to use what they’ve developed in the weight room and apply it mechanically through movement for optimal results.

Sprinting is an art form. There are a lot of small components in sprinting that need to work together harmoniously to run fast.

After many years in the sport of track and field, I’ve been able to accomplish a few things myself individually, but I’ve also been around some of the sport's greatest minds when it comes to biomechanics and speed development.

During my speed development training, I’ll be breaking down the basics of acceleration, transition and top-end mechanics.

I guarantee that you will come out of these sessions feeling faster, and have a better understanding of the technical side of sprinting as well as what a typical full day/week of training sessions look and feel like at the highest level. My goal isn’t just to get you faster, but to equip you with the proper fundamentals to help you be successful.

If you would like to work with Akeem, email him here to get started: Akeemkhaynes@gmail.com. If you are unable to meet with Akeem in person, we've got you covered. Akeem will create a personal sprint training program for you and meet with you virtually after each session.

Akeem Instructing the athletes during the first camp of 2023 (June 11th, 2023)

I also enjoyed working with Akeem, and i will make sure to sign up for the next one. I appreciated the warm up; i learned a lot of new warms up such as the dribbles and the double A slips. I also learned about the skips for distance. His demonstration of pushing off the ground also made it easier to learn.

Akeem prepping the group for a block session during the second camp of the year (June 25th, 2023)

I wanted to express my appreciation for organizing the track camp. Amanda had a great time, and I wanted to share her feedback with you.

According to Amanda, she thoroughly enjoyed the camp. When I asked her about her favorite part, she mentioned that the explosive training stood out to her. She also mentioned that the instructions were clear and well-demonstrated, which helped her understand the exercises effectively. She is particularly excited about the upcoming sessions on block starts and speed endurance. We are spreading the word about the camp.

Thank you for organizing such a fantastic track camp. It has been a valuable experience for Amanda, and we appreciate your efforts in creating a positive and enriching environment.
